
Following a successful career in the banking and asset management industry, Fred founded Netherby Advisors in 2007 to improve the competitive position of smaller market participants by better utilizing outsourcing and operational options.
Fred has proven expertise in developing and executing high growth strategies having spent twelve years with the Bank of Bermuda Group in progressive levels of operational authority including:
• President, CEO and Chairman of the Group’s New York - domiciled trust bank
• Group Head of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development at the time of the bank’s acquisition by HSBC in 2004.
After stepping down from HSBC in 2005, Fred joined WP Stewart & Company as Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer.
Fred graduated from Colgate University in 1989. Fred lives with his family in Westport, Connecticut.
Nate co-founded Netherby Advisors in 2007.
For ten years, from 1997 until August 2007, Nate was a portfolio manager at Friess Associates LLC., manager of the Brandywine Funds. Nate was co-manager of a $1 billion + portfolio.
Nate was made one of eight partners in 2001 when Friess Associates was acquired by Affiliated Managers Group.
From April 2005 - June 2006, Nate took a leave of absence from Friess and was deployed with the 18th Airborne Corps in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Major in the United States Army. Nate was the lead planner for Infrastructure Security for Iraq responsible for oil, gas and electric infrastructure security, optimization and development. Nate has a current top-secret security clearance. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
From 1993 to 1997, prior to joining Friess, Nate was a legal associate with the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in the corporate litigation department.
Nate graduated from Albany University in 1992, received a J.D. from Widener Law in 1997 where he was an editor of the law review.
Nate lives in Easton, Connecticut with his family.
Tom chairs Netherby's Investment Committee focusing on investment research, strategy, risk management and portfolio construction.
Tom has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently serving as a Managing Director of Samoset Capital Group LLC, and Chief Investment Officer of Samoset Wealth Management, where he was responsible for all aspects of the organization's investment process and programs, including the evaluation, selection and monitoring of all outside investment services provided by Samoset.
Prior to joining Samoset in 2007, Tom was the Chief Investment Officer of Managers Investment Group, where he was instrumental in growing the firm's products and services from under $1 billion to over $8 billion in assets under management. He created and chaired the firm's Investment Committee, and as CIO oversaw a wide range of investment disciplines and solutions, delivered through mutual funds, separate account strategies, and implemented broad allocation model portfolios, to financial institutions and intermediaries.
Prior to joining Managers Investment Group, Tom gained broad experience serving as an investment analyst and registered representative at various investment management, management consulting, and mutual fund sales organizations.
Tom has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Investors Business Daily and a number of other financial publications, and has presented at various industry conferences. He currently serves on the Investment Committees for Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County, and the Norfield Congregational Church.
Tom is a graduate of Lehigh University and the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of CFAI and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Tom is married and resides with his family in Weston, CT.
Peter is a member of Netherby's investment team specializing in Alternative Strategies and Portfolio Risk Management.
Peter has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, and since 1997 has been the Managing Member (general partner) of Samoset Alternative Strategies Fund I, L.P., a multi- strategy fund of hedge funds.
Most recently, Peter was Managing Director, Alternative Strategies at Samoset Capital Group, where he was responsible for the firm's hedge fund and private equity investments.
From 1981 to 1995, Peter was a Director at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) where he was responsible for, at various times, trading, structuring and marketing risk management products to institutional clients in the United States, Europe and Asia. His product experience covered global fixed income, equities, currencies and commodities markets. Subsequent to leaving CSFB in 1995, Peter held senior positions with John W. Henry & Co., Inc., where he was a member of the operating and investment policy committees, Archetype Risk Advisors, Inc., a multi-strategy alternative investment management company and Martello Investment Management, Inc., an investment advisory and fund of hedge funds firm.
Peter has served as a Chairman of the Futures Industry Association ("FIA") and a Public Director and Audit Committee Chair of the New York Board of Trade. He has also served on the Financial Products Advisory Committee of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Blue Ribbon Panel of the Board Of Trade Clearing Corporation's Strategic Technology Review. He was an original inductee into the FIA's Futures Hall of Fame in 2005.
Peter graduated from Boston University and has an MBA in finance from Boston College. He is married and lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where he has been actively involved in the non-profit community.
Rasamy has over 15 years of broad experience within the investment related field servicing clients at both institutional and small business levels.
From 1989-2006, Rasamy held positions of increasing responsibility at Evaluation Associates (EAI), a leading institutional consulting firm. Rasamy began as an analyst in the Performance Department and later joined the Manager Research Department as an Assisant Manager, providing investment and performance analysis to money managers. In 2006 she joined an independently Registered Investment Adviser as VP of Operations. For two years, Rasamy supported the Portfolio Manager handling client service, trading, reporting and stock research.
Rasamy joined Netherby in 2008 with primary responsibility for the firm's operations dedicated to data management, client support, account setup and works closely with the team on compliance, problem resolution, document review, policy and procedure development and other operational initiatives. Rasamy holds a B.S. from Western Connecticut State University.
